For my engineering project at my last year at Merryhill School, I am making a pet feeder. In order to make this, I will be controlling the circuit with a transistor, which acts as an electronic switch. Two ends of the transistor will be on either side of the circuit, and the third end will be connected to a GPIO pin of the Raspberry Pi. The power supply will come from four AA batteries (6V) and they will control the motor, which I have taken from a remote controlled car I had. The motor will turn the axle, which is just a skewer in the middle of two cardboard disks taped together. The jar's lid will be taken off, and the jar itself will be turned upside-down. The disks will block the food. When it comes time for the pet to have a meal, the axel of the feeder will turn 180 degrees, momentarily allowing food to pass, and will then quickly close. WARNING: SPOILER ALERT! I watched Ant-Man with my dad on Christmas. I truly and honestly enjoyed all of it. It was not at all the way I had expected would be. It was unlike the serious mood of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. It was actually full of humor. Ant-Man was about transformation of a man named Scott. He had just gotten out of jail. He was an electrical engineer, and he was also a thief. He, along with his comical men, were going to rob the house of someone named named Dr. Pym. They broke through it and found a suit. Disappointed, they went back to their apartment building. Little did they know that Dr. Pym let them take the suit. Scott put the suit on in the bathroom, and found that it could make him extremely small, the size of an ant. However, the situation really escalated for him when his friend decided to take a shower at the same time. Things look and sound very different when you are an ant. Scared, he decided to return the suit to Dr. Pym's house. Unfortunate...

My Christmas of 2015 was awesome! Although it wasn't like the traditional Christmas I had when I was little in which I woke up to find innumerable gifts from Santa, it was unique. Waking up, I felt an object under my pillow in the Home Office. At first, I thought that somehow, the remote controlled car I was taking apart for my pet feeder had somehow gotten onto the bed. But, when I looked at it, I realized it wasn't. Instead, I saw a brand new watch in its case. It was the exact same watch that I had earlier, but that one was broken. In Geometry class, my group and I have completed the first part of the Dream House Project. It is a fun project. We were given $1,000,000 to buy a piece of land, and design a dream house. With continuous support each other, our group members have not only designed the floor plan of our house, but we have also calculated the cost of all the building materials that would be necessary to build the house. Yesterday, January 17 my dad decided that we were going to go to Soda Springs, a resort in Lake Tahoe.When I heard this news, I was very excited because that was going to be the first time I would see snow in my life.
