More Lifestyle Changes
Hi everyone! Lately, I have been trying to improve my life. Not that it isn't great already, but just that I feel that there is a large degree of happiness and potential I still have yet to unlock. Both in terms of the variety of activities I pursue (last post), as well as the things I value, and my outlook on life.
One idea I read a few weeks back is on the topic of successful people. In essence, it went something like: most of those who are successful are not successful because of some inherent talent or some insane ability to always work hard. They are successful because they know their potential and are not afraid to pick themselves up when they fail.
I want to lead a successful life. Most importantly, that entails one where I am both happy and satisfied with the things I am doing. One means I am pursuing of achieving both of these characteristics is through maintaining a growth mindset and maximizing my utility of this mindset through my day-to-day life. As a consequence of this change, I have been trying to place a greater value on my effort and less emphasis on the byproducts of this effort, such as results, etc.
Another way I am working toward boosting my happiness and satisfaction is by improving my sense of gratefulness and compassion towards others. I've been trying to appreciate my friends and express gratefulness for all the happiness in my life. In light of this goal, I'd just like to list some things that made me feel happy.

- My old, close friend spoke to me today after a few months. Though our interaction couldn't have lasted more than two seconds, it left a lasting impression on my mood and brightened my day.
- I have a wonderful ~400m track around my neighborhood that I used to run today. The temperature was cool, and though my legs hurt I felt great after the run.
- I gave a wrong answer in math class. It felt good to learn from my mistake and felt comfortable to be slightly vulnerable to my mistakes in the classroom.
